Martina Galgey, a CrossFit athlete and coach, is facing a new battle with NKT-Cell Lymphoma. After a period of remission, her cancer has returned and is spreading aggressively. Her CrossFit community has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support her through a bone marrow transplant and relocation to Dublin for treatment.

A local CrossFit community has rallied support behind an athlete and coach following a heartbreaking diagnosis. CrossFit athlete and coach Martina Galgey is currently ‘fighting the biggest battle of her life’ after she was diagnosed with NK T-Cell Lymphoma, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer, in July 2023.

Following a bout of chemotherapy in August 2023, and another six weeks of radiotherapy, Martina believed she was in some form of remission one year on from her diagnosis, but in July 2024 she began to feel unwell again. After a skin biopsy, it was discovered the dedicated coach's cancer was back and spreading aggressively, meaning she must undergo a new course of therapy. Now, Martina’s dedicated friends and training partners in the CrossFit community have organised a GoFundMe to help financially support the brave athlete as she undergoes a bone marrow transplant. Her CrossFit friends are also putting together a workout of the day for Martina. The funds will be used to support Martina as she travels and eventually relocates to Dublin for an unknown number of months, and to support her and her husband during this difficult time. “Most of you know me as CrossFit Athlete Martina and others as Coach Martina and a lot of you may know I am currently fighting the biggest battle of my life,” a post on GoFundMe reads. “I was diagnosed with NK T-Cell Lymphoma in July 2023, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. “My treatment initially began with one month of chemotherapy in August 2023 followed by six weeks of radiotherapy and then more chemotherapy. “I thought I was in some form of remission but in July 2024 I began to feel unwell again and I felt unwell lesions started to appear all over my ski
