Police have launched an appeal for information and witnesses following the incident close to Rushley Drive in Hest Bank. It happened at around 1.25pm on Wednesday .
The 49-year-old victim was cycling along the towpath in the direction of Lancaster when he was approached by two males. He was threatened by the offenders before the caused him injuries and stole his pushbike.Morecambe Area Police have released descriptions of the two males involved in the robbery along with a description of the bike. They are urging anyone with information or who witnessed the robbery to make contact.
said: "We are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a male was the victim of a robbery on the canal towpath close to Rushley Drive in Hest Bank on Wednesday 17th May 2023 at approximately 13:25. The victim, a 49 year old male, was cycling along the towpath in the direction of Lancaster when he has been approached by 2 males that have made threats to the victim before causing him injuries and taking his pushbike.
"Male 1 is described as an Asian male, late teens early twenties wearing a black waterproof top. Male 2 is described as a white male, late teens early twenties with curly hair on the top wearing black clothing. "The bike is described as being a red pushbike with quick release wheels and front and rear suspension.
