Cyriel Dessers handed Rangers defence from Michael Beale after star jeered by own fans at Ibrox
Michael Beale backed Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers to come good at Ibrox - despite being JEERED by his own fans.
And Beale is adamant that he’ll be a success at the club. He said: “You can see that Cyriel has come off not having a pre-season. And he missed the last two months of last season as well through injury. He scored in midweek and was heavily involved in our first goal today. Listen, we want a lot from these players.
Beale was pleased with certain parts of his side’s performance against Livi. They picked up their first Premiership win of the season but it was only secured late on. After what he described as a ‘rough week, the manager said: “The game was in three parts. The first part, we started well and scored a good first goal. But after Jose Cifuentes’ goal was ruled out, we slowed down and got stuffy.
“The players were going into their first home league game of the season under more than a little bit of pressure. So the new guys rode every emotion. That’s why at the end of the week, I’ll be positive rather than pessimistic.”
