The RTÉ presenter has a strong interest in politics and he wouldn't rule out running for election down the line - he also defended the annual Rose of Tralee festival

Dáithí O'Sé wouldn't rule out a career in politics in the future, and he feels it is important to have a gaelgeoir in government.

Dáithí is gearing up to host another Rose of Tralee, but his preparation this summer was halted after a serious knee injury."I was brought to the hospital. I basically put my kneecap out to the other side of my knee, so they had to put it back in. He said: "There was a small bit of that. But because Clare won the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final her parents came home.
