DAA have confirmed that an incident occurred this morning at Dublin Airport in which an air bridge reportedly collapsed, causing damage to an aircraft.
According to their statement, issued to The Irish Independent, there were no reports of any injuries, to crew or passengers, in the incident. The bridge was connected to an American Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner which was awaiting flight to Philadelphia.In the statement, a DAA spokesperson said: "DAA can confirm an incident which resulted in damage to American Airlines aircraft by an air bridge at Dublin Airport this morning,” the spokesperson said. Dublin Airport also confirmed that the Air Accident Investigation Unit did not need to attend the incident.Those without a booking should plan to travel to the airport via an alternate method such as by bus, taxi or drop-off by a friend or relative.
