A dad was left paralysed after consuming a dodgy curry which gave him food poisoning and led to an auto-immune disorder. David Miller was left unable to use his limbs after he ordered his favourite fast food dinner and contracted severe food poisoning from a chicken bhuna.
He was eventually diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome which is a very serious and rare condition which affects the nerves and can be lethal. Speaking of his shock diagnosis, Mr Miller said: "It was pretty scary. Obviously we didn't go back to that restaurant again. "It works its way from the extremities through your core and can stop your breathing. Imagine looking at your body and trying to make it move and it doesn't." He added: "I was worried about my breathing, I could tell I wasn't breathing strongly.
"It was a year of my life that it affected. My eating habits haven't really changed, but it does make you think."
