The dad of a young woman murdered in Japan said on the first anniversary since her killer’s release that he wishes the criminal got the death penalty.
“It was his first offence. Nicola’s [murder] led to calls for a law change in Japan. If it was in when he was convicted, he could’ve got the death penalty. She was killed by American Hinds, who was accused of drugging her, after Nicola and a pal attended a concert by American rapper Nicki Minaj in Tokyo.
“I have spoken to some big publishers. I would like to have it published.” He added: “He [Hinds] got out last November. At least they kept him in for the 10 years. He could’ve got out after five and that would’ve felt 10 times worse for us. Hinds was branded “a lying killer who had shown no remorse” when he was sentenced to between five and 10 years imprisonment for strangling Nicola.
