A thug stabbed a stranger to death after he had been out drinking watching a Celtic and Rangers game.

Kai Russell, 24, attacked father-of-two Kamil Charyszyn, who died in the street close to his home in Easterhouse. The stricken 35 year-old dad managed to state to his partner before he passed away: "Darling, I have been hit with a knife."Russell had been due to go on trial today at the High Court in Glasgow.Bobbi Emans, 22, also faced the same accusation, but his not guilty plea was accepted.Prosecutor Graeme Jessop told how the killer and others - including Emans - had been at a house in Coatbridge watching the game on March 21, 2021.The group then later returned to Easterhouse to a house party.

The court heard Russell went on to call a woman stating he had "stabbed a man in the neck and then bolted".However, on April 15, he was arrested again and charged with the murder. The weapon - which was never found - was thought to have an eight-inch blade. The judge told him: "There is only one sentence that the court can pass and that is a life sentence.
