The girlfriend of 20-year-old Jordan Ronan had attended a maternity unit in Cork for her 12-week scan and had shared the image with her partner shortly before he died on Friday
The 20-year-old man who died following an alleged stabbing in Tallaght last week was about to become a father and had seen the first ultrasound scan of his baby just hours before the incident.
A woman aged in her 30s was also arrested in connection with the death but was subsequently released, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions . “They had so much to look forward to, and they’d their whole life ahead of them. They were just starting out as a family,” they said.
A post-mortem examination was performed on Friday, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons. A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said investigations are ongoing and issued an appeal for witnesses.
