The RTE star and Rose of Tralee host has been a mainstay on Irish television since the late 90s but is prepared for the day when bosses don't want him anymore
Daithi O'Se has revealed he has gone back to college to train as a life coach as he admits every television presenter's career has a shelf life.
"The day is going to come when they're going to tap me on the shoulder and say: 'Daithi, we're after copping on to you - you're gone. And any presenter who doesn't believe that is deluded. It's going to happen to everybody at some stage, so I've always been prepared for it," he said. He added to the Sunday Independent: "It's not that I'm waiting for that day to happen... I'm under no illusion that it's coming. It happens to everybody.
"I went back to college this year and I completed a professional diploma and life coaching and mentoring," he said. The RTE star has hosted the annual televised event since 2010, and admits he was initially puzzled last year when when TV bosses told him he would be joined by a co-host.
