Dallas-area still leading the nation in commercial property deals
The Dallas-area is hanging onto its lead as the country's top commercial property market. While nationwide commercial property transactions are slowing, the Dallas area is still the top market in the country for deals.
During the first nine months of this year, more than $32.8 billion in Dallas-area property sales were recorded, a 10% gain over the same period last year, according to the latest data from MSCI Real Assets.second-ranked Los Angeles, which had $23.8 billion in transactions, and Atlanta at $21.8 billion.
The skyscraper sale is the 10th largest commercial transaction in the country this year, according to MSCI Real Assets.With higher interest rates, the number of transactions in many markets around the country is slowing. “Monthly declines in deal activity have been accelerating,” according to MSCI analysts. “Total activity fell in August and September on a year-over-year basis.”
