Velvet Taco, which started on Henderson Avenue in Dallas just over 10 years ago, is expected to reach 100 restaurants by 2026. Here's a look at where the company is expanding in D-FW, outside of Texas, and internationally.Dallas fast-casual restaurant Velvet Taco will grow to “north of 100 restaurants” by 2026, says CEO and president Clay Dover. The company has been on a rapid expansion planin the company from L Catterton in November 2021.
As Velvet Taco expands outside of Texas to cities like Charlotte, N.C., Nashville, Tenn., Chicago and Atlanta, it’ll also look at growth opportunities in South Florida. The WTF is the company’s way of testing new recipes with customers. Recent WTFs have included steak milanese, honey chipotle chicken and crispy barbecue chicken with elote corn. Successful test tacos land on the menu permanently.
“We believe that Dallas will have more than 20 Velvet Tacos by the time it’s all said and done,” Dover says. “It’s a giant city. The brand resonates well.
