Elizabeth Reich, Dallas’ chief financial officer, is leaving at the end of the month as the city is preparing for its next annual budget.

Reich announced Monday that she is resigning for a job outside of city government, City Manager T.C. Broadnax said in an email to top elected and administrative leaders. She’s been with the city since 2016 and her last day will be June 30.

“I am saying goodbye to a great organization, fabulous colleagues and important work,” Reich wrote. “However, I decided to seek out a new challenge that would allow me to continue serving the people of Dallas while continuing to grow professionally. In addition to the budget department, Reich also oversaw Dallas’ comptroller, data analytics, procurement, risk management and information and technology services offices.

Broadnax didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. His job is potentially on the line Wednesday as City Council members are scheduled to discuss his job performance. Mayor Eric Johnson is among those calling for him to be fired.
