Dallas near top of U.S. cities ‘best prepared for a smarter future,’ study says

Texas isn’t dumb after all — at least when it comes to its digital infrastructure.evaluated major cities in the U.S. and Europe to determine which ones are “best prepared for a smarter future.Dallas ranked as the seventh-best U.S. city that is most prepared for an evolving digital landscape. Austin, which was the only other Texas city to appear on the list, landed as No. 1.

“But new technologies can only support us as much as the infrastructure and environment around us are built to facilitate it,” the report reads. By comparison, Dallas also ranked high in the technology infrastructure category at 81 points, which includes the presence of free Wi-Fi, availability of airports and the speed of broadband downloads.
