Damian opens up about finding fame as a teen, meeting his wife in Los Angeles and settling down in Nashville
A chance encounter saw singer Damian McGinty’s album end up in the hands of Phil Coulter at age 13. From there, the Derry teenager toured the world with renowned singing group Celtic Thunder.
He was the main architect who kicked things off for me. I entered a local competition when I was 13 where the winner got to record a very amateur album to an online backing track. There were only two of us in the competition and I didn’t want to go ahead with it, but my dad and my sister convinced me to do it. I thought it was embarrassing, we had a 50/50 shot of winning.
When you joined Glee on season three it was very well established across the globe. What it was like to come in and work with such a famous cast?
