Duff was forced to pay his debts despite saying he foots the bill for most nights out
Damien Duff admits he was €500 poorer after losing a bet to his players, and his squad made sure to chase him up on his debts during their title celebrations.
Unfortunately for Duff, the time difference between Ireland and Turkey, where Mourinho managed, likely means the former Chelsea boss was likely asleep. Speaking to Off The Ball, he said: “What happened next was I was told there was a four hour time difference in Istanbul. Look, no issues. We didn't need to talk, the job was done. The guys had the cheek to text and ring me two days later when they were in the pub asking for their €500 so I had to revolut them.
“They've been called misfits, leftovers, whatever you want to call us but when we go out we party hard and it costs probably quite a bit of money and it is usually me who foots the bill.”
