Stephen Bradley led Shamrock Rovers to the knockout stage of the Europa Conference League, where they lost on penalties on Thursday to Molde.

Stephen Bradley says Irish football is ready to compete at the business end in Europe on a regular basis - and he reckons Damien Duff and Stephen Kenny will be in full agreement.

Bradley spoke of his pride - and of his belief that League of Ireland officials could have helped his side by postponing last Sunday’s game against Bohemians. The next time an Irish club does make it to this stage, resuming European action the same week that the League of Ireland season kicks-off, Bradley hopes there will be more assistance from Abbotstown.

“I thought the players that played were excellent, I thought the players that came on were excellent. “I said yesterday, I don’t think there is any other league in Europe that does that - straight from your off-season. “I’m sure they will be delighted that we went to extra-time tonight, but that’s football. We’ve got to make sure we will be ready for Sunday.”
