It means that the former Republic of Ireland star will remain in charge at Tolka Park for the foreseeable future
after guiding Shels to a fourth place finish this term.
Shels said in a statement: "Shelbourne FC is delighted to announce that Damien Duff has put pen to paper on a new contract extension with the club. "In his first year at Tolka Park, Duff guided the newly promoted Reds to a 7th place finish and a first FAI Cup final appearance in over a decade. "The club are pleased that long term supporter and shareholder Mickey O’Rourke has acquired, through TDL Media, the shareholding of Acun Media. Under the terms of the agreement, Acun Media do not require repayment of their investment made in the club. Mickey O’Rourke will continue to work alongside other Irish and US shareholders.
