Model and law degree holder Aishah has appeared on and won Beauty and the Geek, but also turned down Love Island multiple times as it sis not align with her goals at the time
Former Miss Universe Ireland Aishah Akorede has opened up about her experiences being scouted for - and turning down - a stint on Love Island .
Speaking on Ireland AM on Thursday morning, she told Muireann O'Connell and Tommy Bowe that she has been approached to appear on Love Island multiple times in the past too, but turned it down as it did not align with her career goals at the time. "I wanted to go back into pageantry and also be a lawyer, and I did not want to kind of ruin my career at the time so I said no. Then I was approached again, and said no again, when I was in a really anxious state in my life and I did not want to do anything, especially to do with dating."
"Straight away I was like 'yes,' especially because Grainne Gallanagh done it, who was Miss Universe Ireland in 2018, and she won the year that I first competed so I was like 'yes, I'm following in her footsteps in every way, shape and form!'" "I am worried that those kinds of pains will come back. I stopped ballet at the age of 14. Other than that, I am excited and I hope it does help me."
