Tough-talking dance judge Brian Redmond has begged the Government to give RTE money – as he compares Dancing With The Stars to the Late Late Show.
Brian, who was speaking ahead of his appearance at Savours Kilkenny Food Festival this October bank holiday weekend, said he “cringes” when he hears people misunderstanding the definition of public service broadcasting. “Dancing With The Stars does exactly the same thing. When you think about the conversations that went around homes last year on the back of panto bliss sharing their story, when we’ve had people like Ellen Keane on the show highlighting the challenges that they face as a result of having a disability and look at how fantastic they are doing.
“I would implore the politicians more than the public to understand their duty of care to the people of the country in ensuring that yes our national broadcaster is doing things to the best of their ability but as we heard if they are not properly funding by Spring, they’re in trouble.
