Dancing with the Stars viewers were left fuming after popular presenter Elaine Crowley was eliminated from the show despite a strong performance. Viewers took to social media to express their outrage, insisting that the celebrity chef Kevin Dundon, who scored significantly lower, should have been sent home instead. The elimination sparked a debate about the judging criteria and the fairness of the competition.

Dancing with the Stars viewers were left fuming following Sunday night's show after popular presenter Elaine Crowley was sent packing after her energetic 60s jive. Viewers at home insisted that Kevin Dundon should have been eliminated after the celebrity chef scored just eight out of thirty for his performance.

Instead disappointed viewers saw Elaine Crowley and Denys Samson were the second couple to be eliminated from the RTE show on Sunday night, after failing to impress judges enough at the box office on the show's movie week. The annual special saw the ten remaining celebrity couples dance glittering routines inspired by some of the biggest movies of all time, with iconic heroes, villains and much-loved characters taking centre stage. The Ireland AM presenter and her partner went back in time to the 60s and performed an energetic Jive to You Can’t Stop the Beat from Hairspray , bouncing back from last week's mistake to score 18. But despite some encouraging words from the judges, it wasn't enough to save them, speaking following her exit, Elaine said: 'I'm disappointed but I had a shaky day today.' However, viewers were far from pleased, taking to social media to express their shock over the decision, insisting that the show can't continue to keep the worst dancer every year. 'Sorry what the actual ____ is going on on this show??? Elaine who was TEN TIMES BETTER than Kevin, and yet we're voting to keep Kevin in? This is actually ridiculous!', one viewer fumed. While another added: 'I don’t get it! He was hopeless! Dear god this show gets on my nerves!' Another wrote: 'Sorry someone who scored 8 out of 30 should be going home,' while a fourth chimed in: 'Always ridiculous how the worst dancer survives for ages. Kevin is a hilarious guy and always gives 100%, but he’s a god-awful dancer.' While fans flooded social media to support Elaine, with many in disbelief that the popular Virgin Media star had gone home. 'Was gutted that Elaine went home tonight thought it wasn't a bit fair she was way better tonight Kevin Dunden was brutal, definitely gutted for Elaine', one wrote 'So sad to see Elaine voted off,she is a beautiful funny lady....not the end of the world. Head up you did us proud', another viewer added. 'I loved Elaine, so sad to see her go, she was good and should still be there, be proud of yourself Elaine.' There were only three judges on the panel this week – Brian Redmond, Karen Byrne and Arthur Gourounlian as Loraine Barry was forced to miss the show following the death of her beloved mother. The first scores of tens were delivered on this week's Movie Week episode, with the judges Karen Byrne, Brian Redmond and Arthur Gourounlian giving two tens and a nine to Olympic gold medal-winner Rhys McClenaghan and his partner Laura Nolan, shooting him to the top of the leaderboard. The pair have become a firm favourite to take the glitterball trophy this year, however, fans also think that Danny O’Carroll and Salome Chachua could be in with a huge chance of taking the crown too. This week, Mrs Brown’s Boys actor Danny and his partner Salome hit the floor with a fiery Paso Doble to Now We Are Free from Gladiator. Salome’s favourite dance is the Paso Doble, so Danny was feeling the pressure, but it all paid off. “Would you give over! That is what you call coming in and taking movie week by storm!” Karen told him. “I’m sweating! I loved it!” They received an eight from Karen and Brian and a nine from Arthur. Former Miss Universe Ireland, Aishah Akorede has a habit of getting high scores and that didn't change last night. The judges loved her take on a Cha-cha-cha to Rescue Me by Fontella Bass from Sister Act, giving her and pro partner Robert Rowinski 24. Karen Byrne said: 'You did not disappoint - I absolutely loved it. What an opener to movie week.' Brian Redmond added: 'You set the standard for movie week. Mother Superior will be delighted!' While comedian Gearóid Farrelly transformed into The Artful Dodger, alongside his partner Stephen Vincent for an American Smooth to Consider Yourself from Oliver! They judges considered the routine a success, scoring them 22. Arthur Gourounlian said: 'My jaw dropped. You keep constantly surprising me, and I love that!' Brian added: 'Given the overall performance it leave me saying, 'Please sir, can I have some more?'' Kayleigh Trappe and her partner Ervinas Merfeldas transformed into cats and embraced some French flair as they danced a Quickstep to the title track from The Aristocats. They scored a chic 21. Karen said: 'The big hairy tail didn't phase you - well done.' Arthur added: You gave me life with this performance. You embodied the character. Movie week really suited you Kitty girl.' Next up Taekwondo star Jack Woolley and his pro dancer, Alex Vladimirov became supervillains, The Joker and Harley Quinn, for a Tango to Lady Gaga’s version of The Joker from last year’s Joker: Folie à Deu
