McFly singer Danny Jones was seen kissing Maura Higgins at the BRIT Awards afterparty, which is sure to have left his wife Georgia heartbroken after his recent comments
Danny Jones made some shocking remarks about his marriage just days before he was spotted locking lips with Maura Higgins. The McFly frontman was caught smooching the I'm A Celebrity co-star – who's freshly single after breaking up with Pete Wicks – at a BRIT Awards after-bash.
The kiss has caused outrage among fans, considering Danny is hitched to Georgia, with whom he shares his son Cooper. Spilling the beans on the Parenting Hell podcast recently with hosts Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe, Danny dropped that he had relocated his home during his jungle stint. Talking renovations, Danny lamented: "Are you renovating? Same mate. It's a nightmare isn't it?" which led Rob to joke: "Is that why you went in the jungle to get money for the renovations?" With Josh adding: "To get away with it. Have my kitchen done - three weeks in the jungle." In a witty exchange, Rob brought up how celebs are asked their reason for participating, quipping: "you're honest when they go - why are you here? I've got a massive tax bill and she's left me. That's why I'm here. Give me the kangaroo d*** and let's get this done." To which Danny responded: "Do you know what? I left my wife to move," following it with a jest: "I just left my wife," as they all cackled. Rob branded it an "awkward exclusive" and Josh exclaimed: "What an exclusive," reports the Mirror. Danny then clarified: "I left my wife to move house so I'm surprised she's still with me to be honest because she moved the house all by herself." After his I'm A Celebrity triumph, Danny revealed that his wife Georgia was feeling "overwhelmed" upon his return. He shared, "When I got back, my wife was like I think I just need to go away to a hut myself for a few days. I said go and take yourself away and have a few days. You know what it was like, she was overwhelmed. It got too much for her, I could see it in her. I was like you just need to go away," recalling the moment with clarity. Georgia did indeed take some time out, later posting about her experience: "I was going into this New Year burnt out. Everything I didn't want to feel entering 2025... I felt. Over a month of solo parenting, moving house on my own, working hard on my career whilst Danny was in the jungle with snakes in his pants was A LOT! So whilst I was still in Australia I decided I needed to do something for me... a solo trip, one to push me out of my comfort zone but also one to give me the break I craved. So... I booked a little cabin in the middle of nowhere, somewhere near Shropshire, and found a little nugget of calm in my overwhelmed brain. I chopped fire wood, built fires, sat in silence, read books, slept, took in the views, watched the sheep in the nearby field... and it was perfect." In the same conversation, Danny also opened up about the insights he's gained from being a parent over the years. He reflected on fatherhood, sharing, "I've definitely learned that time with my son is more important than anything. Being there for him and being present when he needs that emotional support. Like last night, I find myself slipping back into my ways," then admitting the struggle of balancing daily routines with quality time: "'It's bedtime, get to bed, clean your teeth mate. Dinner's on, I'm kind of trying to cook for mummy and I've got to be here'. It does get a lot but we're all the same and some nights I'm better than others - some nights, I'm nailing life and bedtime ... The best thing I've learned is that time is hard to find but when you do find it, it's really nice. Enjoying that time - not that I've ever not enjoyed it - but when I've been distracted and someone needs my attention or needs an answer, I think that's really important. He notices it."
