Compass Datacenters is constructing a building 481 Austin Blvd in Red Oak, according to planning documents filed with the state.

A Dallas data center company is growing its tech campus to the south in Red Oak.

Compass Datacenters LLC owns more than 200 acres on Houston School Road near Interstate 35E, where it is building the data center campus. The company last year filed plans for a $100 million, 250,000-square-foot building on the site. Now Compass Datacenters is planning a second building at 481 Austin Blvd, according to planning documents filed with the state. Boston-based HED is the architect for the Ellis County project.

The company has locations in nine U.S. markets stretching from Phoenix to Dallas to Boston. In North Texas, it also has a data center in Allen.with multiple new projects in the works. Demand for data center space almost doubled in the first half of 2022.
