It varies between City Council and County Council schools
The summer school holidays are fast approaching and many parents want to get ahead and plan for the six weeks off. Yet the dates vary depending on which area of Nottinghamshire you are in.
The City Council schools have an inset day on Friday 2 September and so term begins the following week. For schools under Nottinghamshire County Council, they will break up for summer on Thursday 28 July.Pupils at those schools will return for the new term on Thursday 1 September as the 31 August is an administration day. It means children at County Council schools get a slightly shorter summer holiday than the City Council schools.
The councils do aim to ensure there isn't much differences between council run schools and academies to allow for stability and consistency.
