His stellar football talent may have seen him catapulted into the public eye from an early age, but former Manchester United great David Beckham has shown he has an equally canny business sense after hanging up his boots.
A combination of his off-field relationship and his brilliance on the pitch would mean he become one of the most bankable sports stars in the world. Despite his career hitting the loftiest of heights, it is clear that he has never forgotten his humble beginnings as a trainee coming through at Old Trafford. His bond with his teammates from his Red Devils days has been shown with his involvement as a co-owner at Salford City alongside his former colleagues.However, he is not the only member of the fabled Class of '92 - the six footballers who emerged out of Manchester United's academy to become world stars - to have amassed a fortune.
He is now worth an estimated £20 million, with his success in business encompassing ventures such as Salford City and GG Hospitality, which built Hotel Football in Manchester. He also started the the UA92 University alongside his Class of '92 colleagues and will star in the upcoming series of 'Dragon's Den'.
Nicky Butt The former England and Manchester United midfielder joined his ex-teammates in investing in Salford City back in 2014 and he remains involved at the club to this day. Butt has had a varied life following his retirement and his business ventures have included investments in gaming and blockchain company Gaimin.io.
The former United midfield maestro has juggled his involvement with Salford City as an owner, with two stints as the club's caretaker manager in 2015 and 2020. In between these short spells in the dugout at Moor Lane, he has also served as manager at hometown club Oldham Athletic in 2019.
