David Coote has been suspended by the PGMOL after an apparent video of him swearing and ranting about Liverpool emerged, but it's not the first time he has been investigated
It's not the first time Premier League official David Coote has been the subject of an investigation by the Professional Game Match Officials Ltd .
The Nottinghamshire referee was one of two match officials to be investigated as part of a probe into separate cases of alleged misconduct, all the way back in 2017. The nature of the allegations against him were not made public by the PGMOL. However, they were understood to be related to a previous role he had with a local football association.
The video appears to be Coote speaking to another football fan about Klopp and Liverpool. The fan asks him: "What did you think of the Liverpool game earlier?" to which the person who appears to be Coote replies: "Liverpool were s***."
