The flames took hold near the village of Daviot on the hottest day of the year for Scotland.
Firefighters are battling a wildfire that broke out in the Highlands for a second day.
The fire service and police have urged people to stay indoors and close all windows to prevent smoke inhalation.It was thought to be the Duncan Macpherson, a Highland councillor for Inverness South, said firefighters were facing an "almighty challenge" on Saturday night.
