The Rebels need to do three things to beat Tipperary and win their first All-Ireland hurling championship since 2005.

I was in the mood for a Sunday afternoon drive. The year was 2013, a week before our All-Ireland final against Cork.

You see with an All-Ireland final, you are going to experience hype. You can’t escape it. But you can control it. Notwithstanding that, Tipp’s progress this year has been incredible. Liam Cahill deserves massive credit for the distance they have travelled from last year’s Munster Championship, when they failed to win a game, to where they are now: in an All-Ireland final.

Now against Dublin in the semi-final Barrett missed a lot of chances but Tipp cannot afford to allow him roam deep into his own half without someone in a blue and gold jersey keeping him company. The midfield battle will be intriguing. Cork’s Darragh Fitzgibbon and Tim O’Mahony have been really good, Fitzy being a rangy player whose runs will need to be tracked, otherwise he will collect easy ball and provide his forward line with excellent service.
