The Ballymun man retired from GAA following Dublin's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship win in 2023 and he and his wife Niamh McEvoy went on their first family summer holiday
However, the former Dublin GAA star has been able to spend more time with his wife Niamh McEvoy and their daughter Sadie - and he has no regrets over stepping away from the panel following their All-Ireland Senior Football Championship win in 2023.
"I got to spend that time with my family. I have been able to prioritise work and family life a little bit more.Dean enjoyed not slogging through training in the wind, rain and cold of the winter months, but the sunny championship months were different for him. "You miss it when the championship becomes more competitive in the summer and when the weather gets better.However, he has no regrets about his decision to retire.
Dean paired up with his former Dublin teammate Ciarán Kilkenny for the annual Marie Keating Golf Classic where they played alongside sporting legends such as Ken Doherty, Conor Murray, Rory Best and Ronnie Whelan.
