The death of Cory Barron, 22, of Fremont, Ohio, who fell five stories down a garbage chute at Progressive Field, initially was ruled accidental.

Lorain Coroner Dr. Frank Miller, who was not the coroner in 2014, tells WJW that police provided new information indicating Barron was involved in an altercation before his death. The coroner’s office said his body suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries during a five-story fall into an enclosed Dumpster. The chute was located inside a utility room at the baseball stadium.
Alcohol was found in tissue samples taken from Barron. The coroner’s office said they could not accurately measure his blood-alcohol level because of the state of his body.
