The body of a missing woman, identified as Mirjana Pap, has been found in Co Roscommon and Gardaí are treating her death as suspicious. Ms Pap, a Croatian national, went missing from Athlone on Saturday morning.
Gardaí are treating the death of a woman whose body was found in Co Roscommon on Monday as suspicious. Sources have told The Irish Mirror that investigators now fear Croatian-born Mirjana Pap, who had been missing since Saturday, suffered a violent death. We have learned that her body was recovered close to the border between Roscommon and Westmeath early on Monday.
The area was sealed off as part of the investigation - as was a house in Athlone and a site near Mullingar where a car was recovered. Gardaí were remaining tight-lipped on Monday evening, but sources say officers now believe her death was suspicious. Officers had been searching for the 58-year-old since she went missing from Athlone on Saturday morning. Mirjana was described as being approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall with a medium build, white hair and brown eyes. Gardaí said on Sunday they and and Mirjana's family have serious concerns for her well-being. But early on Monday, the search for her was called off when a body was found. 'We would like to thank the public and media for their assistance in this matter,' Gardaí said in a statement
