Rush hour delays on M60 after lorry overturns and spills sand - latest updates
There are rush hour delays in Greater Manchester this evening after a lorry overturned, causing sand to spill over the motorway. The incident was reported on the M60 anti-clockwise between junction 23 and junction 22 .
Police and highways officers are currently on the scene with one lane closed for the clean up operation to begin. There are approximately three miles of congestion with delays of at least 30 minutes expected. Greater Manchester Police has since confirmed the driver is uninjured. It is thought the lane will remain closed for quite some time for the lorry to be recovered from the scene.
