House Speaker Pelosi says no deal has been reached on an emergency stimulus bill and that the House will introduce its own bill
Washington Congressional Democrats are digging in and warning of"serious issues" in the current version of a massive stimulus bill meant to respond to the economic fallout from the spread of coronavirus. It's an ominous sign ahead of a key procedural vote to move forward to a final vote -- even as negotiators have not yet reached a bipartisan deal.
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer emerged from a Senate Democratic lunch on Sunday to say there are"serious issues" with the current proposal and negotiators would be meeting soon to try and iron them out. Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren echoed that message, saying that there is"great unhappiness" in the Democratic caucus about the proposal as it currently stands.
