Before plans were approved by Gedling Borough Council, developers said they hoped to"sympathetically convert the former cinema and workshop". Garden space will be provided.
The building has not been used as a cinema since 1955. Work is now under way at the site, and photos from the area show diggers getting to work on the run-down building.
