Irish soccer star Denise O'Sullivan criticizes the FAI's decision to let go of assistant coach Colin Healy despite his desire to remain with the team.

Ireland star Denise O’Sullivan has expressed her disappointment over Colin Healy ’s exit from the international coaching staff. Healy, a former Ireland international and Cork City manager, served as Eileen Gleeson’s assistant. Following Ireland’s failure to qualify for the Euro 2025 finals after a playoff loss to Wales, the FAI opted not to renew Gleeson’s contract. Consequently, Healy also left the association, despite being considered a potential successor to Gleeson.

O’Sullivan, who has represented Ireland 100 times, shared her frustration on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, 'When a coach of Colin Healy's calibre wants to stay involved I think it’s common sense to do whatever you can to keep him on. Major loss for the team. I’m disappointed to say the least.
