Denver weather: Snow fell in the high mountains overnight Friday and more snow could fall in the upcoming days with the snow line at about 11,000 feet in elevation, according to the National Weather Service.

On Sunday in Denver there’s a 30% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather service forecast. Skies will be partly sunny and the high will hit near 72 degrees. Overnight Sunday in the city there’s a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Skies will be mostly cloudy and the low will dip to about 49 degrees.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected on Sunday along the Front Range. “A few stronger isolated thunderstorms could produce wind gusts up to 40 mph and small hail,” the weather service said. Flash floods could hit the wildfire scar areas. Another round of weak, numerous showers will roll through on Monday afternoon.

In Denver on Monday there is a 50% chance for showers and thunderstorms, according to the forecast. Skies will be partly sunny and the high temp will top out near 73 degrees.
