A star-studded concert featuring big names from the music, arts and culture world will take place in Dublin this weekend.
'Ireland 100: An Old Song Resung' will mark 100 years of the Irish State as part of the Decade of Centenaries Programme 2012-2023, and commemorates the centenary through performance, song, music, dance, and spoken word. Dermot Kennedy, Conor O'Brien, Denise Chaila, Sello, Lisa Hannigan, Damien Dempsey, Loah, Tolu Makay and more will take part in the concert, as well as actor Aidan Gillen, author Anne Enright and other cultural figures.
Other names taking part include Colm Mac Con Iomaire and Síle Denvir with Bláth na hÓige and Liam Ó Maonlaí, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Dara Ó Cinnéide, Loah, Martin Hayes, Eamonn McCann, FeliSpeaks, Diarmaid Ferriter, Sally Mulready OBE, director Mia Mullarkey, musician Steo Wall, the London Irish Elders Choir, poet Paula Meehan, Hugh Lane Gallery director Barbara Dawson, filmmaker Lelia Doolan, dance artist Edwina Guckian, Senator Eileen Flynn and more.
Tickets are free but unfortunately applications have now closed - so if you didn't manage to bag one, best set your TV reminder for the 30th.
