Derry City manager Ruaidhrí Higgins has criticized RTÉ pundit Conan Byrne and the 'Dublin media' following a controversial penalty decision during their draw with Shamrock Rovers. Higgins defended Patrick McEleney's diving after the incident, claiming other penalty shouts were ignored by referee Damien MacGraith.

“It’s an interesting comment,” said the Derry boss. “Did he make as much noise about the penalty we never got? Higgins added: “I’m slightly disappointed we didn’t win the game but you can’t be too disappointed when you go so late into it 1-0 down.
