The defending Ulster champions take on Jim McGuinness's Donegal in the biggest game of the Championship so far at a sold-out Celtic Park
The defending Ulster champions take on Jim McGuinness's Donegal in the biggest game of the Championship so far at a sold-out Celtic ParkWe may be three games deep into the Ulster Championship, but there’s a feeling the action really gets going tonight as defending champions Derry take on Donegal in Celtic Park.
Jim McGuinness is back for a second stint with his native county while Tyrone’s three-time All-Ireland winning boss Mickey Harte left his post with Louth to take over the Ulster champions. Derry are favourites to win a third straight provincial title, something they’ve never done before, but Harte was brought in to win one specific trophy - the Sam Maguire.
McGuinness has been at pains to stress that he hasn’t Donegal where he wants them as a series of injuries undermined is efforts in the League. That could be ‘cute hoorism’ from the 2012 All-Ireland winning manager.
