Farrell played his first Championship campaign for Dublin under the late Paddy Cullen back in 1992.

The three-time All-Ireland winning goalkeeper was laid to rest last Wednesday after succumbing to a lengthy battle with illness at the age of 80. He also had a two-year spell as Dublin manager and gave Farrell his Championship debut against Offaly in 1992.
