DETECTIVES are today hunting an attacker after a young woman was attacked.
The 23-year-old victim was targeted at Greenock's junction of Weir Street and Sinclair Street shortly after midnight this morning. Police have described the incident as a serious assault.say the incident occurred at 12.05am today.A cordon was thrown around a stretch of Sinclair Street and a small part of Weir Street last night and remains in place this morning.
Detective Inspector Nikki Wake of Greenock CID said: “We’d like to thank those members of the public who have contacted police already, and are asking for anyone else with information to please come forward.“If you saw anything suspicious in the Weir Street or Sinclair Street areas, or believe you can assist our enquiries, please call 101, quoting incident 0010 of 6 June, 2023.
