The 1m2½f contest is the feature race on day one of York's Ebor meeting
Frankie Dettori has Lester Piggott's Juddmonte International record in his sights as he aims to get the better of short-priced favourite Paddington on board Mostahdaf in Wednesday's Group 1 contest.Piggott won the Knavesmire contest five times, a record Dettori equalled back in 2007, but he has not won the race since then, with his last ride in it coming back in 2019 when he finished fourth on King Of Comedy in a renewal that was won by the the Aidan O'Brien-trained Japan.
"I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy some great days of racing at York over the years, including winning the St Leger there on Sixties Icon whilst the stands were being rebuilt at Doncaster. "Him and Paddington are arguably the two best mile-and-a-quarter horses around, so we’ve got a great race on our hands. We’ve got to give 9lbs to a very good three-year-old, so it won’t be an easy task, but my fella has done nothing wrong this year.
