There was better luck for Kneecap director, Rich Peppiatt, who picked up an award for his directorial debut on Sunday night
Kneecap and Saoirse Ronan missed out on BAFTA awards - but Kneecap's director Rich Peppiatt scooped an award for his directorial debut.
Later in the night, Kneecap missed out on the award for Outstanding British Film to papal drama, Conclave. Madison thanked her mother, saying "she's driven me to so many auditions" and her fellow cast. She added: "I want to take a second to recognise the sex worker community, you deserve respect and decency, and I... others to do the same.
"I didn't really see a space for me in this industry," he added. "But this award is about people and as long as we can keep telling stories about people I think there's got to be a space for me." Adrien Brody scooped the award for Best Actor for his performance as a Hungarian-Jewish architect in The Brutalist. He said the film was about "pursuing something meaningful, and I think this is something we can all relate ", and added that he shared it with his nominees.
