One content creator on TikTok has exposed a 'secret' game-changing dishwasher hack which could make cleaning our dirty dishes and glasses much easier in the future
While washing up in the sink still gets the job done, dishwashers do save time and sometimes it's easier for us to put the dishwasher on every few days instead of washing up every night. It seems not everyone is aware of the appliance's 'secret' feature, however. TikTok user hotdogsilly shared the game-changing dishwasher hack with her followers with the caption: "My whole life is a lie.
In the video, someone attempts to pop a stemmed wine glass into the top drawer of the appliance. However, the compartment does not shut as the glass is too big. There is a solution to this problem, however, as the person clicks a lever on each side of the top shelf, dropping it down a level. This adjustment makes enough room for the wine glass stems to fit in the dishwasher.
The levers are located on each side of the top shelf. It appears that by simply pushing them in, the top shelf becomes lowered so more space is generated to fit in those taller glasses and dishes. At the end of the video TikToker hotdogsilly goes to see if her dishwasher has the same function and to her amazement it did! As you would expect, lots of people took to the comments to react to the little known hack.
"Ok so this one video proves that the 1000 hours I have spent here was actually all worth it," one person said, via Tyla. While lots of people managed to use the hack, some had questions over how to get the top shelf back to its original position. One said: "I just tried it and it worked but I don’t know how to get it back up there lol.” A second commented: "I did it but how to fix it now, HELP." Some pointed out that the feature is not on every dishwasher.
