A doctor who ran an online clinic for trans children faces being struck off after a tribunal found failings in her care of three patients. Dr Helen Webberley, who founded GenderGP treated the youngsters, aged 11, 12, and 17, in 2016.
A doctor who ran an online clinic for trans children faces being struck off after a tribunal found failings in her care of three patients.
She did not warn the 11-year-old that the medication can lead to infertility and failed to provide adequate follow-up care to the other teenagers, a panel from the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service found on Tuesday. This week it concluded that her failures towards the teens given testosterone amounted to serious misconduct and put them at ‘unwarranted risk of harm’.
Giving evidence to the panel, she said: ‘The impact of having the conviction on myself was huge, it affected many things in my life, from my mortgage to my car insurance.
