Doireann became emotional while hosting her final breakfast show on 2FM with Donncha O'Callaghan and Carl Mullan on Friday morning amid lots of change within the station
The RTE presenter was in tears as she hosted Friday’s show for the final time with co-hosts Carl Mullan and Donncha O’Callaghan.
Doireann first joined 2FM in 2019. She and Eoghan McDermott were announced as the new breakfast hosts after Breakfast Republic with Jennifer Zamparelli, Bernard O’Shea and Keith Walsh was axed by station bosses. She said: “After 5 years of 2FM Breakfast it’s time for ventures new. Donncha and Carl, I have found brothers for life in you both.
“Now, it’s time for my podcasts Doireann and Friends and The Laughs Of Your Life, to travel, to give more to the people who have been on this journey with me since the viral impressions video of 2016 and to pursue the projects I’ve been dreaming about. As we would say to our lovely callers on air, good luck and thanks.”
