Rob Edwards gives verdict on Luton Town's 2-1 won over Everton at Goodison Park
Luton Town manager Rob Edwards insisted he always thought his side were going to beat Everton at Goodison Park after their 2-1 success secured the club’s first-ever Premier League win.
“We had a really good plan. Everton have got some good players, they were very fluid, especially in that first half. At 2-0 up there was a lot of movement, a lot of stuff going on and we had to adjust which we did at half-time and I thought we looked more solid again. I thought we deserved it.”ANALYSIS: Sean Dyche must accelerate midfield change as Josh Wander reaction spotted
“We were aggressive in our pressing and didn’t want to sit off. I thought we were obviously clinical in our set pieces and we had a couple of good chances before we scored the two goals, we looked a real threat from set pieces, we work hard on those. Edwards added: “We knew at that stage where the game was going to be. They had momentum and were chasing and we were hanging on to the victory.
Edwards said: “I think it will be good for belief and confidence. I’ve been banging on recently that our performances have been getting better and we’ve been in the games a lot more.
