Donncha dared Carl to dramatically pause during his Prayer of the Faithful in the service. And I knew it was happening… then my hands started sweating because to be honest even though I was in on the joke, I didn’t like it,' he laughed. Jokes aside, Donncha and Carl couldn’t be happier for Doireann and new husband Mark. 'Mark’s speech, oh my goodness. How he spoke about his family, Doireann’s family and Doireann herself... I was like 'wow' - it was great,' added Donncha. Opening up about life after sport, Donncha recalls how in the first week after retiring from rugby he was in the gym and realised that life outside a professional set-up was a little harder than he expected! 'I got this nervy feeling in behind my shoulder blade. Now it’s real easy to fix, you just go get physio. So I rang the physio and said, ‘can I get in there?’ and now you’re out of the circle, they’re like ‘yeah we have an appointment next Thursday at 4pm’. But it’s Tuesday?! … In the game you have that fixed within 20 minutes.' Donncha also opened about the phone call he received when his former teammate Anthony Foley passed away suddenly in 2016
