A small but determined group of activists gathered in Doonbeg to voice their opposition to Donald Trump, highlighting his legal status as an international criminal and their support for the Palestinian cause.
A peaceful protest took place in Doonbeg village against the presence of Donald Trump, who is staying at his nearby golf resort. Approximately 20 demonstrators gathered, holding signs criticizing Trump and expressing solidarity with Palestinians.
The protest, organized by Irish Palestine Solidarity Campaign member John Molyneux, aimed to remind Trump of the international criminal charge against him for genocide. Despite the peaceful nature of the protest, a large police presence, including armed officers and a helicopter, was deployed, which the organizers found disproportionate. The demonstrators emphasized their opposition to Trump's policies and expressed hope to inspire similar actions in other locations he visits
