Caelan Doris and Jack Conan are showing signs of recovery and could be available for Ireland's crucial Six Nations match against France.
An update from the IRFU on Monday revealed that Caelan Doris and Jack Conan are on track to potentially be available for Ireland's Six Nations encounter against France at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday. Doris was sidelined in the 27-18 victory over Wales in Cardiff the previous week due to a knee injury, while Conan had to withdraw from the game early in the second half with a back problem, which occurred during his first start for Ireland since the previous year's Six Nations.
However, Conan participated in the squad's open training session at the Aviva Stadium last Thursday, suggesting positive progress in his recovery. His inclusion in the same category as Doris, who is also making good progress, is a promising sign for Ireland's back-row options. Rónan Kelleher, who is managing a neck issue, was seen running separately from the main squad, while Tadhg Furlong continues to recover from a calf and hamstring problem that has kept him out of action since his last appearance for Leinster against La Rochelle in January. The IRFU stated that a decision regarding Furlong's and Kelleher's availability will be made later in the week. Meanwhile, Ciarán Frawley is expected to return following a recent concussion. Max Deegan, Darragh Murray, Tommy O'Brien, and Tom O'Toole have been added to the squad after featuring for Ireland A last weekend
